Born in Athens, Greece, Alex studied at Princeton University, then worked at Salomon Brothers Intl as an investment banker before obtaining his MBA from Harvard Business School. After HBS, Alex abandoned the corporate world to co-found an overstock retail chain in Guatemala, (Bazaar international, BANG!) which he exited in 2010. In 2005 he co-founded Televida, the first mobile marketing company in Guatemala and is the acting president and CEO. With his brother Ilias, they began the Poulias Foundation in 2007. In 2016 he co-founded Doctor Online, a pioneer company in telemedicine. Alex has a proven track record in starting and growing companies in emerging markets especially in Latin America and Africa in mobile tech, health tech as well as the retail industry. Alex is a professor at the UFM Acton MBA entrepreneurship program and a YPO member since 2011. Alex loves his family, the sea, the snow, sports, and admires unassuming people driven by passion.
